We all know that our brain can be quite convincing at times telling us what we should or should not do.  Remember, our brain accesses information it subconsciously recorded as positive or negative emotional patterns from our past experiences.  It is only wants to protect us – keep us safe based on the emotional patterns it recorded.  However, if we let it, it will decide for us if we should proceed with making certain choices and taking certain actions in life.  Relying solely on our brain to make such decisions can hold us back in life.  It can even have us think we need to erect walls to protect ourselves from experiencing feelings we deem unpleasant – sadness, vulnerability, disappointment, defeat, anger, failure, etc.

Here lies the dilemma.  We are meant to experience such feelings in order for us to evolve in life.  Unpleasant feelings teach us about the many facets of being a human being.  They show us the strength that resides within our ability to self-lead, our independence in life.  Our ability to build the courage to move through obstacles in life.  From feeling discouraged, hurt, stuck, afraid, ashamed, jealous, listless, depressed, etc., we can learn self-esteem, self-respect, self-confidence, self-reliance/trust, self-motivation, and self-determination which teach us the meaning of real happiness and real successes in life.

Think about it, when you learn how to ride a bicycle, you fall and get yourself back up again.  Same as you did learning to walk as a child.  You don’t only rely on the information your brain learned about riding a bike, you also rely on your physical body to balance yourself on the bike.  The same goes for making choices and taking actions in life.  Balance what your physical brain tells you with what your mind tells you.  This my friends is a good recipe for creating happiness and successes in your life.  So, what you need to do is to train your brain to think differently.  Let your brain know that you’ve established healthy and resilient boundaries, and trust that
your strengths will overcome your weaknesses.  This is what our Choice Life Approach™ process is all about.  Helping you make positive changes to better your life.

I’m here to tell you that there’s no magic required in actualizing this for yourself.  It’s as simple as developing key qualities of your self-leadership ability while respecting your personal values in life.  Well, maybe there is a little magic involved because you learn how to turn obstacles into opportunities in your life.  We simply inspire you to reconnect with how you define yourself – your personal values, the things that bring you joy and make you feel happy in life.  In order to do this and co-exist with other people’s goals and aspirations in life, you need to establish a strong and balanced foundation within you.  One that has you take back control of your thoughts and welcome change as an opportunity to enrich your life, grow and evolve as a person.

What is required is knowing how to listen to your intuition.  You know, that inner wisdom that comes up and let’s us know what energizes or depletes our energy in life.  As difficult as it may be at times, you need to keep on the path of what you are passionate about in life.  Following your passions in life is living your purpose.  Following passions that come from your soul’s mind, your heart – not from your brain.

The struggle for any dream is always worth the effort, for in the struggle lies it’s strength and fulfillment.
If you listen to your heart, you will reach your dream. – Larry S. Chengges
